We’ve got a dog…

IMG_7433 Well, Laura finally talked me into it. It was probably over a year of on-again off-again nagging about all the cute puppies that needed rescuing from the KW Humane society, before I finally gave in and said we could go and ‘have a look’ at some of them. Being honest, I knew ‘having a look’ meant we were coming home with a dog. So since August 27th we’ve been too busy playing and going ‘awww, how cute’ to post an update here, but now that both of my girls are having a quick afternoon nap I figured I had 5min to update the website. Just one photo for now, but plenty more to come. And before you ask, no we don’t know what she is. The humane society advertised her as a collie cross, but the tail looks husky, the coat looks shepherd and the ears seem beagle. Maybe we’ll have to go to http://www.dnamydog.com

Lightning Crashes

Wild lightning show around these parts the other night. Laura was out, so I was able to grab a few photos before she came home and dragged me into the basement to huddle like a turtle under a door frame until the tornado warning was lifted…

Kate and Matt’s Wedding

IMG_6714 YAY!!! Kate and Matt are married! And what a beautiful day it was (Kate’s lucky horseshoe must have been working overtime).

I (of course) took a LOT of photos, and have finally narrowed it down to a more viewable amount. Check out the top 99 in the gallery.

West Head and Palm Beach

IMG_6328 Ian and Sam took a day off work (or were really sick and tucked up in bed if their boss’ read this) during our trip back to Oz for Kate and Matt’s wedding. We spent the day touring up to West Head and Palm Beach. Personally I think it was all part of a plan to convince us to move back. Whichever the case – it was a beautiful day, and we took a few photos.

Ian and Sam’s Wedding

IMG_8546 We were thrilled to be able to attend (and be part of!) Ian and Sam’s wedding in February. Given that Laura and I were both in the wedding party, we’ve had to steal most of these pictures from other people so we had something to show you.

It was a fantastic event (yes it did rain a bit, but that didn’t slow us down) and we wish them both a wonderful life together.

More Flying Photos

IMG_6216 Here’s some more pictures taken during another flight over Milton Quarry. I managed to get some much sharper photos this time around.

Cockatoo Island

IMG_6029 During our recent(ish!) trip back to Oz for Ian and Sam’s wedding Rob, Ian, Sam and John took a trip over to Cockatoo Island for a bit of tooling around.  It also gave Ian and Sam another chance to scout out locations for their upcoming engagement shoot with Sam Hassas – some of his pictures are at http://hassasphotography.blogspot.com/2011/02/sydney-australia-engagement.html.

Our photos, on the other hand, can be seen in the gallery section – just click this link!

Update…

As you’ve no doubt noticed there haven’t been many updates to the website of late, but that doesn’t mean that we haven’t done anything interesting enough to post about – quite the opposite!! We’ve been plenty busy this year and have quite a backlog of updates we need to put up including:

  • Ian and Sam’s wedding – YAY!!
  • Some more flying pictures (better photos this trip)
  • Sydney visit to West Head and Palm Beach
  • Kate and Matt’s wedding – double YAY!!

There have been some ‘behind the scenes’ changes made though. There is now a mobile theme that should automagically load if it detects you’re checking us out on a mobile device – don’t worry you’ll still be able to see everything, it should just happen faster! There’s also be a little bit of prettying up of the galleries (what a PITA that was to do).

And just to keep you interested – this weekend we’re going to a party with an Elvis Impersonator … should be ‘interesting’. Check back soon.

Rob goes night flying...

IMG_5828After having a blast out flying with Russ in early 2010 <link>, I took the opportunity to go up again – this time at night! We did the mandatory lap around Milton Quarry where we both do work before heading into Toronto for some sight seeing. Though there were plenty of blurry photos (no thanks to curved plexiglass and darkness) I was able to find a few worth sharing – photos are in the gallery – the first of 2011!
